On August 13th, GACC held a half-day conference on German mobility design at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles. The event followed last year's successful conference "German Design - Shaping The Future Today". Whereas last year's speakers discussed German design broadly, this year's conference "The Future of Mobility - How German Design Will Move Us" focused on the impact of design on current and future mobility concepts. The conference gave a platform for design experts from a variety of fields to present and discuss their ideas and latest products. The event covered a broad range of topics, from trains to electric cars, e-bikes, airplanes and interactive mobility solutions. Throughout the day the speakers presented their views on how design can contribute to solving the challenges of our time, and how German design in particular moves us now and in the future.

Highlights of the conference were the displays of the BMW's i3, an electric carbon car and the electric bike BlackBlock 2,designed by PG-Bikes. The event was well received by Los Angeles's vibrant design community.
